Too much blank spaces at bottom of page
Hi all, I am pretty new to Musescore and would appreciate some help.
Using a mxl file exported from Finale, I am trying to create seperate parts for the different instruments within the score. However the resulting pages leave lots of blank spaces(nearly half the page) on the bottom half of page, splitting a one page score to a few. I have checked the Page Settings(bottom margin 20mm), and I cannot see any page break marking. What can I do to get rid of the spaces?

Format/Style/Page try resetting all to default.
Can you attach here the score you are having problems with?

Hi Shoichi, thankyou for your reply. Here is the mxl file.
This removed the bleed for me in Safari 6.0.3;
footer-wrapper {
}
You might want to handle that overflow differently tho, based on the content inside it. But this should fix the white space.
I figured it out by just deleting nodes from the DOM bottom-up. It had to be in the #footer-wrapper. As margin-bottom didn't work and you were using relative positioning I figured it was some shadow styling bleeding out of that element.

Hi Aiden, thankyou for the reply. To be honest though, I have no idea what you are talking about! LOL. I have more of a DAW(Logic) background and this Musescore and Scoring stuff is quite new to me. I have attached the mxl file.

Use menu item: View and put a check mark in 'Show Unprintable' to see the page break.

Hi Jm, thankyou for your reply, but I do have Show Invisible, Show Unprintable, Show Frames, Show Page Margins all selected and I cannot see any page break at all. Also, I only see one tempo marking at the top(which I have been trying to change to another tempo but cannot, clicking on it just put another on).

I'm not sure which version you are using for the import, but everything jm6stringer says is there, is. Here's a screen shot I get using the 3.1-rc.
As you can see, there are a lot of tempo marks, system breaks and page breaks not in your picture.

@paradox 148...
What version MuseScore?
When I open your "05-Trial-FLUTE.mxl", this is what I see:
All those extra tempo markings need to be deleted along with the page break.
Regards.

Have you tried to open my attachment above titled 05-Trial-FLUTE2.mscz?
The '2' is there to distinguish it from any others.

AHA!! Of course! I was using V2.3.2. Now that I have upgraded to V3 it is showing all the tempo marks...etc! I knew it was something stupid on my part! Thankyou all so much!

My posted file should show something like this (for MuseScore 2 versions):
Cannot read file C:\Users\User\Forum Posts\05-Trial-FLUTE2.mscz:
This score was saved using a newer version of MuseScore.
Visit the MuseScore website to obtain the latest version.

Yes, that and the posts above alerted me to my old version of Musescore. I just cannot understand why there were so many extra markings in the original file, which was supplied by a "professional" publisher. Errors might have been introduced from the Finale export I guess. Thankyou so much for all the effort that you have put in. :)

Thankyou Aiden, I have already done that and my scores are looking good! We are doing a musical in October and the scores provided are poorly written. Most songs have been spread out to multiple pages unnecessarily and their layouts are a bit of a mess. I have managed to condense them all to one pages with more meaningful layouts. Much better to my eyes and easier to play not having to turn pages every 15 bars!
