I Can't Enter Notes On The Staff With These Settings

I create Chord Play chart. I write Chord Symbols above the staff as default. And I write the chord degrees on the staff. (I use Rehearsal Mark Text for that purpose.)
For the sake of better visuality I apply these settings;

1) I select all the default rest signs and align them just below the staff and make them invisible.

2) I make the staff lines invisible.

Then now I want to insert more than one rest sign on some measures. (When It's used more chord than one in the measure)
Because then Chord Symbols automatically aligned according to the rest signs in the measure. (It looks better)

However with these settings I can not enter rest signs or notes at all.

Is there a solution for this?
