8 issues with MuseScore 3

The list of issues was reported by MuseScore user via support form:

1) The program often crashes, especially when editing an element such as a word in lyrics. Sometimes simply using the arrow keys to navigate will sometimes, but not always, cause the crash.

2) The automatic spacing is good in principle, and I can understand why the first word in a verse is left justified (it helps line up verse numbers), but why are words or syllables that span more than one note using the underscore also left justified? Why are they not centre justified like everything else?

3) Hairpins and dynamics can be put above (for choral music) or below (the default) the stave. Dynamics seems to work well, but hairpins are always positioned below, regardless of setting. If you want them above, you have to enter them all below and then change the setting, when they all jump above.

4) Changing values (such as XY positions of elements and scaling under Format > Page Settings) is odd. In Musescore 2 and virtually any other piece of software, hitting the backspace key will delete the digit to the left of the cursor and accept a new value. Not so in Musescore 3!! If you hit the backspace key, the digit to the left is replaced by a zero and new values aren't accepted. You have to move the cursor one step to the right (back where it started) using the arrow keys, use the backspace key once again and the new value can be accepted.

5) I came across an odd thing with time signatures. In one instance, changing the time signature in the last bar of a line caused the new time signature to be displayed twice at the beginning of the bar. I couldn't delete just one. The left hand one couldn't be deleted and deleting the fight hand one deleted both. I got round this by putting a new line command on the bar before, whereupon the new time signature appeared both at the end of the first line and the beginning of the second line as it should.

6) While we're on the subject of time signatures, I had occasion to add new ones to the shift+T window, as they weren't displayed in the left hand palette. It would be nice if the new signatures then appeared in the palette (even for just that piece) as continually having to go to the shift+T window is a pain.It would appear that double clicking in a time signature that does appear in the palette simply puts that time signature at the start of the selected bar. Doing the same with added time signatures adds a complete new bar with the new time signature at its start.

7) I was editing a score (just adding a tempo marking as it happens) and two empty bars (in all parts) appeared out of nowhere on the next page. OK, I was able to delete them, but why were they there in the first place?

8) The instructions on the web site for deleting bars don't seem to apply to Musescore 3. You are told to go Edit > Delete Selected Bars. It's not there. You have to right click in the selected bars and choose the command from the pop-up window.
