Copying from 2.3.2 into 3.0
Hi
Problem: I started with MS 2.0 back in 2013 or so. It was offered on Linux through the software manager. Several years ago, I downloaded version 3.0 for Windows. I have some files that will not open on 3.0, so I just downloaded 2.3.2. I have it opened and have loaded those old files. I was going to select and copy rom the version 2.2.3 and paste it into 3.0. But when I try to open 3.0 portable, it says that I must close the other version.
What are my options now?
Thanks

Hold. I started the 2.3.2 first, ten the portable. I see it's spose to be visa versa.

Hmm. I don't think it's OK. I can read the scores now, but my Portable has been altered to version 2.3.2. Heellp!

Was I mistaken that my Portable version was 3.0? Maybe that's it. But if it was 2.3.2 all along, why didn't it open the old files?
You're off on your numbers. MuseScore 2 was release in 2015, so if you started using MuseScore in 2013, it was MuseScore 1. MuseScore 3, on the other hand, was only released a few months ago, so you certainly did not download it several years ago. Also, there is no "Portable" version of MsueScore 3.
Once you figure out what versions you actually have, it will be easier to assist. Just go to Help / About to find out.

OK. I don't think there were any problems except for those I created. I must have the 1.0 from Linux 2012 or 2013, Then I downloaded a newer version a few years ago for Windows. Then I settled on the Portable because it meets my needs. And I umust have assumed it was 3.0. Anyway, I've got those old files opened now and copied to te portable version.
