New version - no longer able to delete bars/measure
In the previous version of Musescore, CTRL + DEL enabled me to delete bars/measures. Since I downloaded the latest version, I am no longer able to do this. (a) does anyone have a work around? (b) Is there a way to return to the previous version of Musescore?

You can highlight the measures and then right click ->"Remove selected measures",
or highlight the measures and use the menu option Tools->"Remove selected range"
You can check in the preferences if the shortcut (Ctrl + canc) is set properly.
Ciao,

Crtl+Del works the same as it ever did, only that now you can even use it on partial measures
I'm having the same problem where I can not remove measures using the latest version (OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.2.2.7534, revision: c893c61)
I tried selecting one or more measures with right-click/Remove Selected Measures and Tools/Remove Selected Range but nothing seems to work. The measures are in the middle of the score with no content.
Appreciate any help to resolve.

BTW, Ctrl-Del also had no effect.

Works perfectly for me, same version, Windows 7, so something about your score is ...strange... and we'd need to see it (including the information which measures you want to delete)

Flash update! - the measures are part of a multi-part score and the inability to remove measures was on the score page. I was able to remove the measures from one of the individual part tabs and that deletion was reflected in the full score.

I suspected that and tried myself: still works for me

As you said, it may be something peculiar with this particular score. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it happens again. Thanks.
