Use a bend instead or an arpeggio? The slide is just a notational thing, no playback properties

Slide on guitar is a smooth change of the pitch between two notes. The finger slides from the start to the target, represented with 2 fretted positions.
An arpeggio ist not a smooth change. And a bend does not change the fretted position.

I meant glissando, not arpeggio...
So you want a portamento, which is a pending additionm see #127341: Add Glissando playback style portamento

I can't get slur or tie to work either.

No playback properties - that explains it. Thank you. I assume the same is true for both a tie and a slur as I can't seem to get either to "work" -- ?
