Alternative rhythm triplets
What is the right way to indicate an alternative triplet above the stave? In my example, from the symbols window I inserted the first 2 quavers, then the little 3 and then the third quaver. First problem: inserting the 3 leaves a gap in the beam. Secondly, I cannot scale the symbols up. Using the inspector, I can increase the font size, but as soon as I leave the text group, it reverts to the small size.

Wow! Thanks for that pointer. Yes, I could do something along those lines - it's obviously a very powerful technique. I thought that there would be a simpler way without creating a score and using image capture. Is there a way I can make my symbols bigger and stay that way?

These are SVGs, those scale to any size you want without loosing quality
