Brackets in the middle of the measure
Is there a way to put a bracket say on the 2nd count of a measure? I am working on a choral piece and the composer wants the organ to drop out if the choir is up to it. Is there a way to put a bracket around the organ parts that he wants to drop out?

I'm not sure what kind of bracket you want - a picture would help - but there are tons of symbols available on the Symbols palette - press "Z" to display. These can be added to any note/rest in your score and positioned however you like.

I am transcribing a piece for choir and organ. There are times in the piece where the composer would like just the choir--if they're up to it--to sing. I still need the organ part there just in case the choir can't do it alone. Is there some way to put a bracket around the organ system and start with the second count of the measure?

Did my answer above not help? If not, please attach a picture of what you want, I'm still having trouble understanding. It sure sounds, though, that you are simply needing to open the Symbols palette and add a bracket from there.

I tried using the brackets symbol but it wants to use the whole measure like a bar line. I need something that includes the 2 staves--treble and bass clefs--of the piece.

Image capture of a bracket that already exists would indeed be one way to get one the right size. if that doesn't help, please, attach both your score itself and a picture of what you want it to look like, so we can understand and assist better.

So I need a bracket to set off measures 4. 5. 6. 7 starting with the 2nd beat of measure 4 and ending after the first beat of measure 7

Use the Symbols palette:

Open the Symbols palette (typing Z is the shortcut).
Enter 'bracket' in the search box and you will see the 'double height left' and 'double height right' brackets.

Thanks for this forum.
I would like to add a bracket in a middle of a measure as well, but I need a large one, to grab both hands (see the picture attached).
And I cannot edit and enlarge the brackets in the symbols palette.
Have you got an idea to help me?

By adding it as staff text (special characters), deactivating the automatic placement for it, adjusting the size and position?

Use Image Capture to copy the bracket at the start of the system with transparent background ticked and save it somewhere you can find it. Then add it as an image where you need it. You can stretch it to the size you need.

One more tip: once you have added the bracket to the score you can CTRL+SHIFT+Drag it to add it to the pallet of your choice for future use.

There is no image capture in muse score 4, is there any way to add a bracket mid-system in muse score 4? like this:

Those are not brackets. They are repeat barlines with "wings".
To get those, go to Format>Style>Barlines select Show Repeat Barline Tips ("winged repeats")
Your picture also looks like it is using Musejazz music font. To get that look, select Musejazz as the Musical Symbol font in Format>Style>Score. But the "winged" repeats can be applied with any of the musical symbol fonts.
