How can I connect two notes while a break seperates them?

Hi everyone, I'm interested two connect two notes, the first one is quaver note (1/8), and then there is a break of semiquaver (32th) and then another note of 32th. I want to connect the notes by line. An example is attached in a photo. Thanks example.png

  1. Make a note, a rest, and a rest
  2. Click the rest
  3. Click the rest then go to beam properties and click the icon that shows up the beams are connect together
