Changing Note Heads
This may seem like a dumb question but:
I am basically writing out drum charts.
I am using a Mac.
I may have a series of 1/8 notes in the Hi Hat and want to change the note head of one of them to represent a crash. In this case either the triangle or Do note head would work fine. I'm not concerned about playback as much as I am about the look of the part.
I can select the note and then double-click the note head in the pallet and I see the new note head on the note as I want.
However, it doesn't stay. Once I click off the note or hit the esc key, the note head converts back to the previous (x) note head.
How do I change the note head for a specific note in the drum set stave and have it stick?
Thanks!

You don't note crashes by changing hi hats into crashes - you do it by notating it as a crash in the first place. I guess you want this to be a "special" crash that is played on the hi hat and notated on a different line than other crashes, which is fine. See the Handbook under "Drum notation" for more information on how to edit your drum set information to define a new note with the desired line, head, and playback settings.

Thanks for the reply.
I edited, and saved, a new Drumset style that addressed my need.
