For the record, this would not happen normally, but could happen if in a previous release you had tried replacing the standard instrument list with a custom one, and now after the update MuseScore doesn't know how to find your cusotmzied version any more. You should not normally be *replacing* the standard list, only supplementing it - that's why there is a second field in Edit / Preferences / Score. The "Revert" command will reset to the standard list, then if you wish to customzie it again, this time don't replace the standard one buy supplement it.
