Measure Properties 'Visible' greyed out with single instrument
Hey just getting to grips with musescore so have been looking through the handbook learning the features.
Just wondering why with just one instrument, the 'visible' checkbox on measure properties is greyed out?
Thanks!

This would be a really handy device from time to time. Mike, I hope you get an answer.
Hello there!
I am having a similar problem. I have a score with a single instrument (violin) and I am unable to make a bar invisible from the bar / measure properties dialogue box.
I have included a couple of screenshots.
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Jonathan

I do not know what is the purpose ...
Edit / Instruments ...> Stave 1> Add Stave;
Right click the last measure, the Visible tick box is now active.
Edit/Instruments... Stave2: remove.
Do not is sufficient Ctrl + Delete to remove the measure?

Hi Shoichi
Thank you so much for your excellent advice it worked (please see screen shot.)
I wanted to do this because I am preparing music for inclusion in a violin method book and "Ctrl + Delete" would have resulted in the remaining bars automatically filling the remainder of the line.
Once again, thank you for your help.

I believe a horizontal frame would be the more appropriate solution here, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/frames#horizontal, possibly in combination with a system break, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/breaks-and-spacers

Hello Jojo
Thank you so much as well. The horizontal frame method is working well for me.
I really appreciate your help

@ Jonathan: Another way to prevent automatic filling of the last line is to set the last system fill threshold to a very high number. Click STYLE>General>Page and change the default 30% to something like 90%. With that setting, the last system or line of music won't auto-stretch unless it's almost full anyway.

Hello Recorder485
Also, many thanks for your tip. I have not yet managed to use the workaround in a satisfactory way, but it is good to have another "weapon" in my arsenal!
Thank you
