How to add guitar to a string quartet
I searched but I couldn't find help on this one.
I have a piece for a string quartet and a guitar, but I'm having trouble to get the staves and brackets right. The guitar is like out of the big brackets and the barlines do not go across like to do with the rest of the quartet. How can I just add the guitar to the quartet so it looks nice.
Thank you a lot.

Doubleclick the bracket, use the handle.
in case of problem, join the mscz

There is only a bottom handle so this doesn't work.

You can delete the bracket, then drag a new one (from the palette) onto the guitar. You can then expand it on to the string quartet with the bottom handle. If the palette is not showing the toggle is fn+F9.
For the barlines, double-click one of them in the guitar staff and extend it until it connects, and they'll all automatically adjust.
For the bracket, I'm afraid you'll need to select it, delete it, then add a new one from the Brackets palette and extend that to cover all five staves the same way you did with the barline.

I didn't find a way to delete the bracket... but I just "cut" it now when trying your advice.. basically the same.
The barline trick worked wonderfully, a shame I didn't try that myself.
Thanks. Everything's set now

Glad it worked! For deleting it, it should have been as simple as click on it once and press the [Delete] key.

Didn't work like that. There are several things that I find difficult to get rid of which should be just deleteable like you are mentioning here, but yes, this bracket wasn't. Only the "workaround" of cutting helped.
Thanks again :)

Hmm. Maybe you double-clicked before trying to delete, instead of single-clicked? Or are you still using MuseScore 1.x instead of MuseScore 2?
You're welcome! ;-)

I just updated to the latest Musescore. I guess I double-clicked it.

For the record, pressing the Delete button on your keybaord deletes things. Many Mac's don't have a true Delete key - only a Backsapce key that is labeled "Delete" for some reason, and in some versions of MuseScore you might need to use the standard Mac shortcut "Fn+Delete" to make it work like a true Delete. I think the current version (2.0.3) should work with just plain Delete, though?

In fact, that has been working since 2.0—a few other key combinations involving that didn't get fixed until later, but all are working now.
BTW, I think I've mentioned this before about [Home]/[End] and related keys—it comes down to full keyboard layout vs. laptop keyboard. The full Mac keyboard does have another [Delete] key off to the right with a forward-delete icon on it.
