Keep chords in extracted parts.

I have a question.
I have some scores which are essentially lead-sheets (so a melody with chords above them). But some of them have an added instrument (for example an interesting bass guitar part that I will forget if not written down. Now if I extract the bass guitar part, I lose the chords.
Is there a way to do the chords in a way such that they stay witch each individual part when extracted?
