Disappearing lyrics
I am currently using 2.0.2. When typing in lyrics, I frequently find that the last syllable I typed disappears. Similarly, when I hit the space bar to move to the next word, if I delay in typing the word, the cursor sometimes disappears. In the attached file, for the text I have typed so far, I have counted at least 20 times when either the cursor or a syllable disappeared. This is something I don't recall encountering at any time in 2.0 or earlier. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

the score itself seems OK. I added some lyrics ....no problem
I had similar problems because the touchpad was active, and I touched it inadvertedly.
So I choose to set it off
...valid only for notebooks....
Accidentally touching the touchpad seems like a logical hypothesis for how you might lose the cursor, but I don't think that could explain a syllable disappearing. If you didn't notice this earlier, maybe your keybaord is starting to fail, and touchpad and the Delete key are both starting to send intermittent signals. Hard to say, but what is going on seems unique to your particualr system, since no one else has reported anything like this. If you ever find a precise series of steps to reproduce a problem, please post it so we can investigate.
Thanks for response. There is no touchpad; I am using a new iMac, Yosemite 10.10.5, and mouse and keyboard are both above 90% charged. Musescore 2.0.3. The problem never occurred in 2.0, but has happened to all my pieces that include lyrics since I started using later versions. I have attached four screenshots of four separate issues that occurred within a couple of bars. In the first one, I hit the hyphen key, the cursor disappeared, and you will see a little box that has appeared above the intended insertion point. In the second screenshot, I again hit hyphen, typed the syllable "te" and the syllable disappeared. In the third one, again, a small box has appeared above the lyrics insertion point. The final screenshot shows that after "Rian", I hit the space bar, typed "ne", space bar again, started typing "se", but then "ne" disappeared! I don't know whether these events give any clues, but the keyboard seems perfectly fine, while the mouse is not used for lyrics insertion. Thank you.

It may not solve, but have you try Help/Revert to Factory Settings?

You should type faster....!
I reproduced the issue, at the same measure
Type "hyphen" you get the normal situation
Wait....wait....and suddenly you get a rectangle (see attached), and now type the next character ("t") and you get the issue.
I run Ubuntu 16.04 with a french BÉPO keyboard

I can reproduce, too, from this score, and from scratch. In my understanding, it's related to the Auto-Save (and you must be in Continuous View)
EDIT: issue reported soon.
Done: #112251: Auto-save erases the selection and various involved elements: lyrics, chords, figured bass

Maybe a little 'late :(
Shift + Spacebar should reset, it seems to me
I am using 2.0.3. Already for a long time, sometimes a word (in the lyrics) that I have typed disappears and I have to type it again, then it stays most of the time. I have found no regularity of system when a word disappears or not. It's a nuisance.
Please advise.

See #112251: Auto-save erases the selection and various involved elements: lyrics, chords, figured bass. If you type a syllable then wait two minutes before moving on (hitting Space, hyphen, underscore, or Esc) then auto save may kick in and delete the syllable you were still working on. Or if you hit Save yourself. Those are the only cases we know about. If you're seeing something different, we'd need you to attach the score and give steps to reproduce the problem, although I understand that may not be possible.

For what its worth, I was having this same problem a year or so ago. After about a month of happening inconsistently, it stopped happening and has not returned.
