Unknown song. Please help
I've had a song stuck in my head for the past little while. I don't know the name of it, nor who composed it.
The original song was a lot longer than this... at least 150 bars or more. When I heard it, it was played on four pianos, each with a single staff, although I suspect it was originally written for a string quartet.
Please have a listen. If you know the details, please leave a post on the song or here in the forum.
Thanks

Yes it is the fugue from BWV 542 I know the piece well.
It is not BWV 543 which is the Great Prelude & Fugue in A minor
It is for organ - not four pianos!
The subject is based on a Dutch song, ‘Ik ben gegroet van’, from the collection Oude en Nieuwe Hollantse Boeren Lieties.
Your useless fact for today :)

the 543 was probably a typo of mine
