Edit-related buttons to simplify tablet use
I now mostly use MS on an HP Envy Windows convertible in tablet mode (i.e. no keyboard). Touch plus active stylus make for convenient use. The soft keyboard is adequate for most tasks, but the keyboard is a too-essential mechanism. It is a headache to bring up the soft keyboard every time I need to copy/paste/shift-select etc. This obscures the page and adds a lot of steps. I'd love to have a toolbar section that provides basic edit operations, and ideally would let me add other keystrokes. I don't see anything like this yet. Is it possible?

There is a work in progress to make the toolbar editable. In theory, all the actions listed in Preferences > Shortcuts can be exposed as a toolbar button, a menu or a shortcut. If you want to help, clone the master branch and check the menus.cpp and toolbareditor.cpp.

Thanks, that is very good to hear. I don't know if I will have time to dig into the code but perhaps will have a look.
