Making right notes not be put in left hand measure
So I'm working on transcribing sheet music from my piano book into Musescore, and I've run into a rather annoying problem. The right hand is supposed to play C, G, and E from the third octave to the fourth, and Musescore is automatically placing the third octave notes into the left hand, when I need it in the right hand. Help me..? IMG_0408 is what need to happen, Screenshot_1 is what I don't need but Musescore does.

You're using the mouse to enter notes, right? Either use the keyboard instead or put them in lower first then up with the arrow keys

Jojo--That doesn't happen when I use the mouse to enter notes in 2.0.1; has that behaviour changed in the newer revisions? The program accepts single clicks of notes on either staff, in random order, and leaves them exactly where I put them.

But if you click between staves, then it's going to be ledger lines connecting to whichever staff is closest—and Denis wants a note closer to the bottom staff, but connected to the treble staff. Clicking isn't going to do that, and it never has.

Ah, there's that. I never use the mouse for entry so I hadn't thought about that possibility. Thanks; I will go back and edit my other comment to the OP, which 'crossed in the mail' with yours. ;o)

[Edited reply] IsaacWeiss figured out what your problem was; I had misunderstood it somewhat. But in any event, keyboard entry is much more efficient in 99% of cases than mouse entry. You cannot shift from one staff to the other without first exiting note-entry mode and then clicking on the other staff prior to going back into note-entry mode. But once the cursor is placed on one specific staff, notes entered using the keyboard are entered on that staff and only on that staff. They do not automatically migrate to the other, no matter what octave they are in. So the best thing for you is to enter all the notes on one staff, exit Note-Entry mode by typing N, and then go back and do the other staff.
