How does MuseScore deal with drum soundfont?
I would like to customize the note(or pitch?) - drum sound relation in the drumset which seems to be unmodifiable inside the program. So I started to learn about the system.
Now I know that Musescore use sf3 soundfont which is comprised of samples, instrument and preset with latter ones being the groups of former ones. And I also found that in Musescore's Mixer menu, I can customize which preset of drumset to use. The provided preset names correspond to presets in sf3 files.
But what I cannot understand is that however I change the presets in the mixer, in the edit drum menu, percussion instruments don't change. And mostly only the sound of snare drum differs a bit. So my question is how does MuseScore deal with drum sounds? To be able to deal with many different soundfonts there shouldn't be a hardwired map of assignment of sound samples to drum sound options provided in the drum set menu.

You do it by editing the drumset, which you can then save as a .drm file and load whenever you require it.
Most of the GM drum key assignments are listed in the default drumset definition, although some of them are still missing, but if you consult a list suchas the one here.....

you will be able to work out how to assign the various drum sounds to the different lines of the staff.
In case you didn't already know you enter the Edit Drumset dialogue by right-clicking a percussion staff and choosing "Edit Drumset" from the context menu.

Oh thx!!
So... it is the "key range" element of the sample affects where it appears in the drum set edit menu? What about "root key" element? Is there anykind of manual of what each element stands for?Thank you very much anyway. Very helpful.
