Cannot zoom in using shortcut
Ctrl-- works great for zooming out. Ctrl++ does nothing. I suspect this is because '+' occupies the same key as =, and requires the shift key to type. Ctrl+Shift++ does nothing either, though.

What OS? Works fine for me on Ubuntu 14.04, also a US keyboard with "+" above "=" so Shift is required as well. Unfortunately the variety of OS's and keybaords out there makes getting all shortcuts to work correctly out of the box an almost impossible task. Luckily, you can customize this and most other shortcuts via Edit / Preferences / Shortcuts.

Windows 8.1. If it works on yours with the + above =, then I really have no idea of what is going on.
I have had problems both on my Linux (w/ wine) & Windows machine. Maybe it has to do with a particular keyboard layout or something. The quick fix for me was to change the shortcut to be Ctrl+= for zoom in and then Ctrl+0 as the 100% zoom.
