Not surprising; this is highly experimental technology. There are some commercial scanning programs that can sometimes do better, and you might have more luck importing the results (MusicXML) obtained from one of those. But in the end. most likely you will spend as much time correcting the errors in the scan / import as you would simply entering the information by hand in the first place.
