shorten a measure doesn't work in Ubuntu 16.04
I tried many attempts on shortening a multi measusure rest in Ubuntu 16.04 with NO SUCCESS at all.
So , to be sure, I installed the windows version and here were no problems. What can be wrong???

How are you (trying to) shortening a Multi measure rest? With the strech shortcuts { and } via the menu or via measure properties? Which works and which Fails on what OS?

Ich arbeite mit Ubuntu 16.04. Eine uber das menu item "Layout" geht gud. Alle andere optionen arbeiten nicht.

Seems to hint at the shortcuts not to work, you could try to change them to something different, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/preferences#shortcuts
