How to focus the view
Can you focus the view whilst creating/editing the score onto one stave(s) instead of the whole score - is there a handy "Focus on Staves" button? I am new to musescore.

If you use continuous view, you can just zoom in a bit, and just scroll left and right to have keep the same staff visible all the time.
An alternative is to generate the parts, and work on one part at a time. It will automatically be syncronized with the full score. In the parts multi-measure rests are turned on by default. You probably want to turn this off while you are adding new notes etc.

Thanks for that, Andreas. They both do the job. Seems a bit of a long way round though. I think the developer(s) should create a nice button on the toolbar like you get in another well known notation software app named after a famous composer!
Nort sure what you mean about "focus the view", but if you wish to see just one staff instead of the whole score, that's what the "parts" facility is for - see File / Parts. If that's not what you mean, then perhaps you could explain in more detail what you are trying to do.

Ok, I'm starting to understand the way you do things now. I understand what you mean, and it has the same result as the "Focus on Staves" button in Sibelius. It's just that I was more used to extracting the parts when the composition/arrangement was finished rather than in the early stages of editing. Would still prefer a button but I'm not complaining because I'm getting a fully featured notation program for free!
