MuseScore is a CPU hog

3c7a69d iMac (El Capitan 10.11.6)

The attached score has six voices and piano. When I choose to hide empty staves MuseScore seems to hog one CPU on my iMac, which makes it impossible to work on the piece – MuseScore is almost not responding. I've finished entering the nodes and need to ajust the final layout for print where I do not want empty staves printed.

The Windows version of MuseScore appears not to have this problem.

Neither does the latest nightly build for Mac – however it has another problem – the layout looks horrible when opening the score.
