Insert wording without affecting the note spacing
Hi,
I tried to enter wording like "1st time: Ladies unison". As soon as I enter space after typing 1st, it would skip to the next note. And if I type without spacing, the spacing between the notes would increase drastically.
Can someone show me how it is done properly?
Thanks

This one is helpful. But I cant get to insert ":". Tried with alt, shfit, and ctrl and combination. I can use ";" for the moment. Is it possible to insert ":"?

We are talking about lyrycs?
Otherwise follow the advice of xavierjazz
On my pc, for spacing after the syllable I use AltGr (the key to the right of the space bar): Hold it down and press spacebar.
In the attached: lyrics and text
It sounds as if you are using the lyric function to give score instructions.
Instead, use the text function.

in particular https://musescore.org/en/handbook/text-basics#staff-text
Basic rule: the actual words to be sung should be entered as Lyrics (Ctrl+L). Any words that not intended to be sung but instead are meant to tell the performers something about how to perform it should be entered as Staff Text (Ctrl+T) or some other type of text. If you enter them in this way, they do the right things.

Very true, Marc, however, I use Text to enter lyrics when my score only has chords and I don't want to be bothered entering all the notes. I use the Offset function to shove the Text lyrics below the staves. Like everything else in Musescore, this method works like a charm :)! I love this program.
