Language settings not working for the palette
No matter the language I select from the Preferences menu, the menus change but the palette stays in Brazilian Portuguese.
I don't understand why. I am located in Brazil, but my OS (Windows 7 x64) is in english. I tried to set all the local settings to US. (in Language Input, Region, location...) and no matter what I do the palette stays in portuguese. It feels like it was installed that way and period.
I found 2 old reports about this, but one is from 2008 and the other from 2010 - and none of them solves the problem.
I am using MuseScore 1.1, rev 4611, on Windows 7 x64.

You probably changed the configuration of your palette and it has been saved in english.
Stop MuseScore and delete
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\MusE\MuseScore\mscore-palette.xml
. Restart MuseScore. In reply to You probably changed the by [DELETED] 5
Thank you very much! that solved the problem.
For the records, I didn't do anything with the palettes, but I've had MuseScore installed since 0.9.6.
I have Restored to Default my preferences several times, and today I fully uninstalled MS and deleted the folder in Program Files before reinstalling. I think this is just something that MuseScore should not left behind when uninstalled.

I could be wrong, but I wonder if things like adding a new time signature to the time signature window trigger the saving of the a custom palette.

Yes. I think it does.

Maybe! I most probably have found a way to modify the palette in over two years of use.
The healthy thing to do is to make the uninstaller remove all traces of MuseScore. Many uninstallers have this 'remove personal preferences and data' checkbox when uninstalling. That would be nice.
