Creating a SoundFont for Drumline Instruments

I want to make a sound library of sounds from various drumline instruments to create more accurate playbacks when writing for these instruments. Is this possible? I know there was a discussion about SoundFonts and their collections to MuseScore. I was wondering if it was possible to make my own SoundFont file?
