Organ stop emulation
I'm transcribing some music where it suggests various organ stops. Just wondering if I duplicate those stops.
Here's the various suggestions:
1: FULL ORGAN
Upper: Full Swell (with 16')
Lower: Diapason 8', Flute 8', Strings 8'
Pedal: 16', 8'
Vibrato/Tremolo On, Full
2: TIBIA SOLO
Upper: Tibia (Flute) 16, 8', 4'
Lower: Flute 8', String 8'
Pedal: 16', 8' (Medium)
Vibrato/Tremolo On, Full
3: STRINGS WITH FLUTE ACCOMPANIMENT
Upper: Cello 18', (Violin) Strings 8', 4', 2'
Lower: Flute 8'
Pedal: 16', 8' (Soft)
Vibrato/Tremolo On, Full
4: JAZZ BRASS
Upper: Trumpet 8', Oboe 8', Kinura 8'
Lower: Diapason 8', Strings 8', 4'
Pedal: 16', 8'
Vibrato/Tremolo Off
5: CLARINET SOLO
Upper: Clarinet 8'
Lower: String 8', Flute 8'
Pedal: 16', 8' (Medium)
Vibrato/Tremolo On, Full
6: XYLOPHONE EFFECT
Upper: Tibia 16', 4', Xylophone
Lower: Flute 8', String 8'
Pedal: 16', 8'
Vibrato/Tremolo On, Light
7: HYMN REGISTRATION
Upper: Flute 8', 4', 2', Diapason 8', Fr. Horn 8'
Lower: Diapason 8', String 8'
Pedal: 16', 8'
Vibrato/Tremolo Off
Some of these are easy to duplicate (e.g. xylophone), others are not (e.g. tibia, diapason, pedal).
I would like to add this to the feature requests as well.
Comments
The trunk (v2.0) contains organ pipe emulation, but I don't know to what extent. I suspect you will have to wait until v2 comes out for this.
As it happens, one of the projects on my "To Do" list is to make a specialist organ soundfont for use in MuseScore and other applications.
It won't happen until after I have moved, however, so it will likely begin after Christmas.
I already have a Father Willis church organ to sample at the church where I am MD, and hopefully I can get permission to sample a Christie theatre organ which is nearby for theatre organ sounds.
This will be the first soundfont I've attempted, although I have 20 years experience in the recording field (particularly of organs, both pipe and Hammond) - any help and advice will be welcome.
Regards
Michael
