Select only grace notes with selection filter

Can't find details in handbook but not sure I phrased the query correctly. I have a line in a score copied from another staff. I can easilty use the selection filter to delete one voice or the other. However if I select the entire staff and then go to the selection filter and uncheck all and then only check the grace notes nothing is selected and I cannot use the delete key. How do I highlight a set of measures and select only one feature that I want deleted. It seams I need to have a voice with notes in it to be in the selection but then I would delete those as well as the grace notes and I want the main notes to remain. Situation is similar if I try to delete other markings likes slurs or dynamics etc. So maybe its not obvious how to use the selection. Seems useless if you cannot select the items to delete in a group becuase if the selection filter only allows me to select an item one at a time, I don't need the filter which appears to be designed from group actions.
