Duration of fermata is defined now as rational number of relative prolongation 2- times longer and simmilar. But in praxis it I learned that fermata adds some time to note - very often one beat. What would be better? Fermata should be written in all parts, because conductor sometimes uses it as point of orientation. Some instruments have fermata on all the measure (there is just one note) but some have it for example on last note the quorter. And all musitians must prolonge the note with fermata and they must add the same time independently, if they play one quarter or halve of measute.

So I would prefer maybe in some future version that fermata would be set not as a relative prolongation - how many times longer, but as addition how much more time (in beats). So if now is for last quarter setting 2 (and for whole measure must be 1,25 if 4/4 or 1,333 if 3/4) , the new setting could be 1 applied for any note duration (for all instruments). Maybe, then could be using of fermata defined just for one instrument and some of its beat and then could be other fermatas added autamatically by system to all other instuments on correct places.
