Mandolin Tremolo notation and tab
Is there a way to remove the automatic tremolos from the mandolins when placing half notes and above?

Do you mean you don't want to show tremolos signs in each staff, but only in standard staff or Tab staff?
If affirmative, do: right-click on a tremolo sign (in standard, or tab staff, according to your wish) -> Select -> all similar elements in same staff -> Press "V" (or untick "Visible" in Inspector) -> Escape
And after: View -> Untick "Show invisible"
Whether you use linked staves or not linked (after copy-paste), the process is the same. But there is a second way if the staves are not linked.
Ie, before copy-paste, open "Selection Filter" (F6), and untick "Tremolo"
If other thing, please attach an image for showing the wished result.

I am guessing you have chosen the "full" style of tablature as opposed to "common" or "simple". The markings that you are seeing are not tremolos - they are how half notes are denoted in this style of tablature. if you don't want to use those markings, don't use that style of tab - use "common" or "simple" instead. Or further customize things in the staff properties.

Ah yes, indeed, probably the right guess. Well seen.
I recall another message (not about tremolo for mandolin) in french forum, where something else caused another confusion. This sign for half notes can be ambiguous, it is a fact.
Probably matter to improvement.

Yeah never been a fan of the tremolo on half notes, but it is better than the circle around the note. Isn't there another notation with an extended or shortened stem on the half note in full tab?

I'm guessing that's it. I'd like the stems only, but nothing else in the linked staff unless I add them. Not a bug, but it would be nice to have that option. I'll try the other workarounds in the mean time. Thank you for the advice...

Not currently (me too, not a fan of this notation for half notes)

Sorry, not yet clear (for me). An option? That is to say? Could you elaborate, and attach an image (eg of a published score) for showing the desired result.

Like this but on half notes with just a short stem. No trem or dynamics, lines, etc.

For the record, you can approach the wished result (ie, half notes with a short stem) by doing:
Right-click on a staff -> Staff properties -> Advanced style properties -> Notes values -> Stem style: "Beside staff" -> Half notes: tick "as short stem" -> Ok
So, this configuration:
Of course, you loose the display of the stems through the staff. But is it really an inconvenient?
See the result, in comparison of yours:
In any rate, better that this (with a possible confusion indeed with the tremolo notation), right?

That's definitely better. Is there any way to make the regular stems connect to the tab numbers?
Never mind. I saw we couldn't. :). I guess it's all a trade off. This is still the best music notation software out there. Thanks again for your help.
(Maybe we can figure out a new way to label those half notes. I think I need to do more research into acceptable practices. :). )
