Title page bug
Hi All, For some strange tech reason, the title page of my opera File #3 Act I. prints the actual title and info and the libretto text in tiny miniaturized letters all of a sudden. The rest of the file prints normally. Please see attachment. pg 51. (The very first page) There is nothing wrong with my computer OR printer. I need to get this file printed on 8 1/2 by 11 paper. It works fine so far except for the title page! Clues?)Thank You

Hello Del, that's how it appears here. Keep in mind that the size of the music page in the Annex are approximately equal to A4 size.

Not sure what you mean. Your title is set to 24 point font, and the other text on that page is set to 11 point. That's exactly what I see. Are you expecting something different? As mentioned, you have your page size set to something pretty unusual, so if you are trying to print on smaller paper - which you are - then of course things will be scaled down by your printer in order to fit.

Yes, correct. And I am very happy i can get even pages with the highest amount of instruments and voices to print clearly, even though small, on 81/2 by 11 paper. I've seen published "miniature" and "pocket" scores that don't look any better. However, the title page prints the whole page on about 4' of space on the 81'2X 11 paper. I wonder if it has to do with the Title page frames setup? I was trying to move a copyright notice at the bottom of the page and I apparently caused this strange thing to happen somehow perhaps text in one frame got transferred to another frame of the Title page?

The PDF looks exactly the way it looks in MuseScore. If you want it to look different, you'd have to set it up differently. Right now it isn't clear how you'd prefer it to look. But I guess you are saying you want the text larger, which would make it take more of the page. So, make the text larger. You;ll have to readjust the line breaks you inserted. Also, make sure the page size you selected really makes sense - right now I don't think it does, unless you are having custom paper ordered / cut to fit that very unusual size.
The copyright message belongs in the footer, BTW, not as part of the dialog. See Style / General / Header, Footer, Numbers, and also File / Score Properties. The footer is currently set to display the copyright on every page. You can make it first page only if you prefer by changing footer to $C. You apparently didn't enter a copyright message when you created the score, but you can do so now in File / Score Properties.

At all times I am trying to think of the paper score the Conductor will have. Of course, some of those are quite large. Or in recent times, they might use an electronic score that I guess scrolls "across" for the Conductor. In that case I 'm not sire what size would matter??

Indeed, for electronic scores, page size is less relevant, although you'd want to get an aspect ratio that is a good match for the device it will be viewed on to avoid wasting space.
For printed score, you should normally be choosing a page size that matches actual paper sizes available in your region. You're in the USA, so sizes like A4 etc won't normally be available. The standard sizes for composers having their scores printed here tends to be "Tabloid" - 11x17" (twice as big as Letter). Your page size is 320x550mm, which doesn't correspond to *any* standard size in any country that I know of. It's certainly possible there is something special you have in mind. But unless you know for sure you can get a printer to print that exact size, chances are, you'd have to have to have paper custom cut at greater expense to get that. Unless you have some special reaosn for this in mind, or some conductor specifically requested this size, it's probably better to stick with standard sizes.

I have abandoned the idea of setting up title pages in Musescore. If you need a title page (not to mention a foreword, critical report, dedication etc.) I recommend to set it up in a word processor of publishing software and combine the Pdf of it with the Pdf of the score before or even after printing. Don't forget to adjust the page numbers of your score.
That way you can take advantage of all the features of your word processor and get nicer title pages that are more consistent from one score to the next.
If your score (or part more often) is small you don't need a title page of course, just the title at the top of page 1. For this Musescore is plenty good enough.
