'Shortest Note On Import' removed
'Shortest Note On Import' box that appears when you open a MIDI file has been removed recently, I believe.
Will it be reinstated?

For ease of use i want to move it to preferences.
I'm not sure if that's a good idea - it maybe difficult to change it after importing.
I am not sure it is a good idea either: it seems an option to be tuned for each imported piece.
Thanks,
M.

It's not something I have used, but surely it would be best for each user to be able to set a default in Preferences, but to be able to override that default before importing? I imagine I would want the default to be semiquaver, but might well occasionally need demisemiquaver or quaver; someone else importing different styles of music might want the default to be a quaver.

I agree. A default in preferences, with ability to override on import - that's what I'd want. Not that I use this much myself.
I wanted to point out that when importing a MIDI or MusicXML into Sibelius 7, a dialogue appears.

A dialogue also appears in Finale.

I don't think I saw one in FInale 2012, when importing a MusicXML.

Ooops - no - I misread your post.
Finale doesn't open a dialogue when importing MusicXML.
It does, however, when importing a MIDI file.
I think it should be an option in the MIDI Import Panel.

It's already an option in the MIDI import panel. I mean the shortest note. It's the first option in the panel. Or you are talking about something else?

Yes, after talking with trig-ger, I realised.
