Startup Dialog
It was just implemented, but I'm not sure I like it - perhaps it should be an option in Preferences.
Bug: Crossing the box should remove it, but it loads 'Create New Score'.

It's an experiment.
...or at least one more option is needed in it: open a recent file.
Most of the times I start MS I want to continue editing a previously created file (of course, they have been created once, but this happens more rarely) and having to close two dialogue boxes just to get to the recent file menu is an annoyance more than a feature.
Just an opinion, though.
Thanks,
M.

How come I never see this dialog? I've even factory reset and still nothing. I'm running v2.0 R5240.

Me neither.
Perhaps it's OS-specific.

Running Windows 7 here (rev. 5243. Damn, a newer rev. available already!): I see the startup dlg box.
I have compiled it myself with Qt SDK and Qt lib 4.7.4 (at home I also have an Ubuntu installation, but I do not remember if the dlg appears on it as well).

If the startup dialogue will be included in 2.0, can it not appear if you open a file not via MuseScore?

We are still figuring out the course we will take with the startup dialog. But good call with the open file not via MuseScore.

Since I've not seen this "feature" can someone post a pic? (And why do some not see it, and some do?)

OK, now I see how to get this dialog. Its only when the preference "start empty" is set. Since I typically work with "continue last session", I've not seen it until now.
I think I will continue to work the way I do to avoid this window.

Ah! That xplains why I've not seen it before.
Having seen it I shall continue to us the "Continue last session" option - it's not for me, although I can see that it might help others.
I would recommend the following options:-
1. Create Score
2. Open Demo
3. Open Recent Score
4. Open Score
Not necessarily in that order :)
We should probably remove mentions of 'startup dialog' in this box, or replace with something else.

The problem when crossing the box and 'Create New Score' loads is now fixed.

Programs such as Sibelius 7 have a start-up dialogue - it might be okay, actually :).
