Is this possible in Musescore? Chopin op.4

• Jan 29, 2012 - 18:14

Hello, I am trying to enter this sheet to get a proper midi from it since I wasn't been able to find it anywhere. I am new to music notation (I mostly did read Wikipedia about it).

I am attaching the example source sheet and the file I made out of it (I didn't do the last visible measure yet).

So far I have two problems with it -
first, there are chords where one note is long and the other(s) are short, and when I try to enter in into Musescore the whole chord's duration changes. This is visible in measure 4,5 under bass clef.

Second - it seems like there is an extra note squeezed into measures 2,4. It sounds perfectly fine in the recordings of this piece I have but the only way to enter it is by shortening the 2 last notes, which sounds wrong. It might be that the last 5 notes are actually little shorter, so that they do fit in this measure, but is there way to enter this into Musescore?

EDIT: nevermind about the first question, I've found out about the voices. Second one still stands though.

Thank you, that was very helpful.

Another question: Is there way to extend glissado on the other voices at the same place? I just drag it there but not sure if it's being handled correctly when playing midi...

Actually arpeggio and glissado do affect sound output, although I am not sure about exported midi file.

This is easy to check by playing the arpeggio or glissado chord at the slowest possible tempo - the notes marked with one of these marks do not sound all at once, but one by one.

However, it seems like they can only be applied to the single voice while in my example they are supposed to be applied to multiple voices.
