1. Create a guitar tablature score in the new score wizard. Check in the Instruments dialog that the "Staff Type" and "Clef" is correct.
2. Now make any change to the display (in "Staff properties > Advanced style properties").
3. Go back to Instruments.

Result: "Clef" now indicates "Treble 8vb" and "Staff type" has changed to "Standard".

If the user now tries to add a standard staff to the tablature, using "Add staff" or "Add linked staff", the staff will be the wrong type.

Comments

Oh, very former issue! More than 2 years (if I recall well, a discussion on this point had taken place in a forum, or Issue Tracker)
It followed an important serie of fixes concerning many issues of clefs, in this period (summer 2014)

So, it's a duplicate of: #30096: Changes to advanced style properties in tablature causes clef in Instruments to change

"If the user now tries to add a standard staff to the tablature, using "Add staff" or "Add linked staff", the staff will be the wrong type."

No, the added standard staff (linked or not) will be good. But I agree this display is surprising/unexpected, that it can disorient average users (or new users of course), and this is for why I had evocated the same question in 2014 (it was already a duplicate!)
