Failure to download extra data files
Since upgrading to Musescore 2.03, every time I restart, Ubuntu flashes up the error message:
Failure to download extra data files
ttf-mscorefonts-installer
The error message offers an automatic correction which changes nothing. I have tried manually removing and reinstalling ttf-mscorefonts-installer (it is installed), but that also changes nothing.
Musescore seems to be functioning perfectly, but the error message is an irritation.
Any suggestions?

I have exactly the same annoying symptoms. Same versions of MuseScore and Ubuntu.
How did you install MuseScore? From the repo? PPA? AppImage?

Appimage in my case.
The mscorefonts aren't MuseScore's; they are MicroSoft's (MS core fonts). I got this error in relation to the installation of Wine and further reading states that there is a bug in ubuntu. Periodically I think I have got rid of it but it pops up again intermittently.

Helpful, I suppose. Thanks underquark.
