Open a percussion staff and insert a few closed hihat beats. Select one crosshead and look in the Inspector under "Note > Head group". The reset button displays as active but is actually non-functional.
Well, depends what you mean by non-functional. If you press it the Head Group changes to normal and the reset button gets disabled.
It doesn't change the notehead though and the setting doesn't stick (i.e. if you deselect and select that note again, the settings are back to what they were before)
And for the record: a current build from master behaves the same
Just to be clear - is the intention for the reset button to be enabled, and clicking the button changes the notehead to a normal circular notehead? Or is the intention for the reset button to be unselectable (grayed out)?

The problem is also present with tamarin and cowbells (with diamond and triangle note heads respectively), and not just cross note heads.
