Vertical placement of Otavva's ending text is not honored
1) Create ottava
2) In its line properties, use a custom ending character such as ┐
3) This doesn't align perfectly with the default dashes, but could with a little shifting.
4) In its line properties again and then the [...] section of the ending section, change the vertical position and apply.
5) The repositioning is not honoured and has no effect.
Note: the horizontal position does affect placement, as well as the begin vertical position, but not the end vertical.
Any work around or counter-proof to this?
P.S. The four alignment buttons do take effect, but not the more precise vertical offset setting.

I think I can confirm the issue, but I'm a little confused by your example. Where exactly are you trying to put the character you mentioned? Are you trying to align it with the hook that is already present, to create some sort of non-strandard stair-step effect? Or did you disable the hook for some reason and are now trying to fake one using text? If so, is there a reason for that?

The reason is one of personal aesthetic, not added functionality. The standard is to have the hook be of the same type as the line: e.g. if the line is dashed, so is the hook. With the removal of the default hook and adding an ending character, a solid hook can be achieved in conjunction with a dashed main line; I find myself inclined toward this style rather than the dashed hook. To illustrate:

To be more clear of intentions, I should have included a disabling of the ending hook.

This suggests that, independently of the bug, maybe we should consider either changing how the hook is rendered by default, or making it an option. Gould shows what appears to be a solid hook, FWIW.

It's definitely a nice option; haven't read Behind Bars though.
I've only very rarely come across the solid hook in the sheet music I have, but once I saw it done I wanted to adopt it to my own style choices. There's another prominent form of the main line of an otavva I've come across: actual dots (they look like periods) rather than dashes. Musescore has the option of "Dotted", but the result isn't true dots: they're just smaller looking dashes. Man, time flies! I posted on this (https://musescore.org/en/node/114371) in June 2016 and learned from Shoichi that a custom line of text can be used for periods. This option also would benefit from effective vertical alignment for the ending character to give a result like this:
I bring this up because if the hook is to be given a separate style option, I think true dotting also should be, but I don't mean to get greedy with feature requests ;-) Plus, the custom text works ok as a work around with some tweaking. The problem with the custom text though is that the standard hook naturally won't be periods but dashes since the periods are only custom text.
Even if the hook weren't officially added as an option, getting that vertical alignment to effect the ending character would definitely be a decent fix-up to be able to get the effect or any other ending delimiter that a user can think of. Maybe I'll file this in the Issue Tracker.
