Playing back a repeat section for the second time
Hello. Just started using Musescore and loving it. And it's great that there's loads of helpful advice and tips online.
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.
I've written a piece with a repeat and a 1st time and 2nd time bar (volte?). It works correctly when I play it through from start to finish.
What I'm looking for is if I can do the playback starting from the 2nd time round if that makes sense. This is just for the purpose of rehearsing / editing the music, so I can just listen to that part without having to go through the whole piece. It's not a permanent change.
I know I can click into the 2nd time bar and play from there, but what I can't do is play from just before the repeat sign into the 2nd time bar, without having to play through the whole thing from the start.
Thanks a lot...

The best you can do is to click the repeat bar button in the in the playback tool bar. This will play straight thru the voltas though :( I wish we could tell MS we were playing it through the 2nd time, but that is not an option.
When I want to hear the second time I start where I want and when I see the bar I'm going to jump to, I put my mouse on the first note and click on it as close as I can to the correct instant.
If you have the play panel open, you could scrub (drag) the playback indicator to the correct measure/repeat cycle; You'll just have to remember at about which time-indication in the score that is.

Shoichi's picture is indeed what I meant; his pictures once again saved me 1000 words ;)

That will not easily help skipping over a volta. My method, while not perfect I believe is better. But everyone can decide for themselves.
Thanks guys for the quick responses.
Geetee, yes I think that does the job. As you say, you need to have an idea of how far through the music you want to be in terms of number of seconds rather than simply clicking a note, but it's a good workaround.
