Playback Freezing

Whenever i try to play any score, the cursor freezes (or moves at about <0.1x speed) and doesn't produce any noise. Seems exactly like this post I found, but no answer was given:

I am also on linux mint, and the bug seemed to start when I connected a pair of headphones.
I tried re-downloading the appimage, but the same issue occurred.

I downloaded a flatpak for musescore4, and it worked for playback, but some features (like the mixer) simply stopped working at all, so I'd like to use the appimage if possible.

I've tried using different audio devices and restarting my computer, but nothing has seemed to work.

If anyone can help me troubleshoot or find a solution, that would be great. Thanks!
