Noteheads Not Changing?
So when I'm writing and I want to change the type of notehead, I click the "Noteheads" palette but when I have a note selected and double click on it, it does nothing. I have to Ctrl+E to Edit Element and then it lets me change it, but when I touch any other buttons, it reverts back to a normal notehead. It won't stay as what I've selected it to be. Anyone know why? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!!

Click on the note, double-click in the palette.

I'm guessing you are writing for drums - they work differently. See the Handbook under "Drum notation" to learn how to edit the drumset definition, which is what controls the noteheads on drum staves.
If you are not writing for drums, please attach the score you are having trouble with and give steps to reproduce the problem so we can see what might be going on.
