Can't reproduce from the steps given in #2 on Windows XP Pro SP3/R5663 unless the PNG has transparency. Then my system crashes immediately on dragging the graphic into MS.
Opening the Test Score provided in #4 results in an immediate crash of MS, however.
Yes - just about every time I drag a transparent PNG to a Nightly Build MuseScore crashes on my Sony Vaio Laptop.
At first I thought it was the Intel video driver, but my netbook uses the same, albeit later version, driver and when I tried it on that it did not crash, updatignt he driver in my sony Vaio merely resulted in degrading the quality of the fonts in the MS UI - the crash still happened.
Using a 24bit PNG ie without transparency works fine - it's the 32bit PNGs with the added Alpha channel which are causing the proplem.
I can't reproduce the crash of #14 with Nightly build rev. 6f98791, nor with personal (debug) build of the same revision: it opens the file and displays fine the image. No crash also when going to Page settings.
Windows XP Professional SP3
For what concerns #13, dragging and dropping an image to a note or rest at the moment seems not to produce anything, BUT the debugger shows that the image has been inserted in the score and if the score is saved and reloaded then the image is shown.
In the case of "000_Deckblatt.mscz" the problem does not seem to lie in the image, but in the fact that there are no staves (the file contains only a vertical frame and an image inside the frame).
Indeed, the crash happens when trying to read the key signature from a 0 segment.
MuseScore 1.3 is able to load the file. MuseScore 2.0 is able to create files with no staves and correctly loads them.
I think this is worth an bug report on its own.

Thanks for the report, but in the future, could you please read this ?
Could you provide a sample score?
1. Create new score, entry some notes
2. Drag & Drop an PNG image into score
3. Click Layout -> Page Setting
MS Crash
Thanks.
I can't seem to reproduce. Perhaps it was fixed - could you try with the latest Windows nightly build (5663)? Is anyone else able to confirm?
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (5663) - Mac 10.7.4.
It still happen with MS nightly rev 5663 on Wins XP OS
Can you try to open the attachment. ?
Can't reproduce with the last nightly on Windows Vista, weird. Maybe a race condition;
I tried your score and this image , but I still can't reproduce :).
It maybe an exclusive to Windows.
Maybe it's an XP exclusive.
I tried on my both PC & Laptop with winXP OS they both have the same problem; crash.
If I remove the PNG image then it's OK.

Could it be related to this issue?

The nightlies for WIndows are now built with Qt 4.8.4. Could someone with Windows XP try to reproduce the problem?
Well, dragging any png into 697eab5 in WinXP SP3 doesn't work. No carsh, but no images to be seen either
It is not even needed to go to page setting, MuseScore crashes on opening an 1.x file containing an image
Hmm, even with a jpg, not just png.

I should have tested with my test file :-(.
Take this here, it crashes

Ah, OK, thanks, will file one
Edit: done, #20916: Importing 1.x score containing no measure causes crash
Can we consider this one as solved?
