I am using MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8, MuseScore is 1.2 rev 5470
When I click on "Create Part" in the attached file, the program crashes saying "MuseScore quit unexpectedly." I have another 4-hand piano song and that works perfectly, but whenever I try to create part in this song (attached) it crashes. Any help is much appreciated!
As mentioned upthread this doesn't happen in recent nighly builds, which will become version 2.0
Instead of 1.2 you should use 1.3, which is out since half a year, but neither will receive futher fixes, all development effort is being put into the next version currently.
For the record: there was a known bug in 1.2 where Create Parts would crash for scores in which you had tried to attach voltas (1st & 2nd endings) to any but the top staff. Looks like that's what you have done here. Remove the excess voltas and all should be well even with 1.2. MuseScore automatically copies the voltas from the top staff to all parts when creating them.
But the crash that used to occur in 1.2 has indeed already been fixed, both for 1.3 and for the next major release.
Thank you, Marc. I did remove the excess voltas, but no change in the reaction of the program. I need to get my admin to update MuseScore to see if that will help.
The volta you left may appear above the top staff, but if you try to edit it you will see it is actually attached to the third staff. It has to literally be attached to the top staff in 1.2.
I don't see any crashes extracting parts on 1.3 using either version of the score.
I did not notice where it was atrtached...thanks for the clarification. My admin just updated me to 1.3 and the "parts" issue is, well...no longer an issue!

Could you try to reproduce in the nightly builds (download here and report the revision)?
The focus of the Issue Tracker is the forthcoming 2.0 version, which is why I ask :).
If you can't reproduce, I would recommend you use the forum .

Please note though that the nightly builds are unstable and really only intended for testing (just incase you were planning to do work).
