Playback not functioning
MuseScore has quit playing back for me. I tried the advice in the handbook and this did not work. I then uninstalled MuseScore and installed the newer version (I was one version old). Restarted computer. Still no playback. My other software (eg Band in a Box) does not have a problem. I'm on windows. Nothing is muted, etc... I have searched through this site and not found anything that seems to change this. I don't know how/why the problem started, but it is especially weird that even after uninstalling, putting in the newest version, restarting and opening up MuseScore, even the built-in sample won't sound. I have a feeling it is something simple but after an hour of searching through the handbook and the forum and trying things, I am now asking for help.

I found it---the "Use Jack Midi Output" was unchecked...I have no idea what that means, but I checked it and it started working. Maybe this will be helpful to someone else.
i would like to know what "use jack midi output" means and why the default i unchecked. that might help me undo other problems!

Which version of MuseScore are you using ? On which operating system?
'Jack MIDI output" is an advanced feature that is not needed for basic playback. And if you don't know what JACK is, there is little chance it makes a difference if you checked it.
