Is this possible?
I want to recreate a score, but it has percussion 3 going from unpitched to pitched, is his possible on Musescore? It's also in the same system, so I can't use hide empty staves to hide it

You could use hide empty staves and a (zero width) horizontal Frame.
Or maybe an Instrument Change.

When I use instrument change it doesn't allow me to add treble clef

and it crashed musescore when I tried to input anything...

Don't do it then ;-) and go for the hide empty staves with horizontal frame

how does one use that to achieve it?
Sorry if I seem obnoxious, I just don't understand :p

add both instruments, enter notes, at the place where the change should happen insert a horizontal Frame, shrink its width to 0, enable 'hide empty staves'

Oh ok I'll try that out thanks :)

The horizontal frame isn't necessary. Just make sure the line or page break falls at the end of the measure where you want the switch between the 2 staffs. When you look at it in page view it will look like what you want. When you extract the parts, extract both parts to the same part and once again make sure the break is at the end of the last line. I did this several times in a score with an oboe and English horn.

the horizontal frame is neccessary, as the OP explicitly stated that the change should happen mid-system
"Hide empty staves" works on any of the breaks and any of the frames.
