Adding to one part by copy from another

New user here.

I have created my first score in MuseScore — a SATB 4-part choir score. I should like to add to it a draft piano accompaniment initially based on the SATB parts.

I have added a new instrument (Piano), and copied to the right-hand stave the Soprano line. But when I copy and try to paste the Alto line this simply replaces the Soprano part. Likewise when I try and assemble a left hand piano Stave from the Tenor and Bass parts.

Please can someone explain how I can successfully assemble a piano part based on the SATB lines? Thank you.

You need to move the A and B to voice 2 before copying, that will allow multiple lines on one staff. As an alternative if the rhythms are the same you can implode S&A onto the S staff and T & B onto the T staff, copy them to the piano and then either undo the implodes or just don't save it before you close it so you don't get undesirable effects on the vocal score.

You will need to filter down to voice 2 to to copy it: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/copy-and-paste#selection-filter
