Hide rests
Good day,
I'm looking to hide rests. Here's the deal though - I just want empty staves. No notes, rests, or anything. Five lines with a bar line on each side.
Can you help?
Thank you!

select a rest and press the v key. If it looks grayed out, it is invisible and will not print. To make it invisible to you select view->show invisible.

Do the same for the barlines you don't want or set the # of bars per line at one. (Edit>tools>bars per).
When I place the cursor on a rest and click a note replaces the rest.

Sounds like you are in note input mode. Press Esc to get back to normal mode. Then you can select rests individually by clicking them. Or if you're actually trying to create a whole sheet of blank staves as with the OP, just use Ctrl+A to select all.
