Score upload question.
Hello World!
I'm new to musescore but i have been writing a lot to get comfortable with it now.I know how to write entire songs from song books into musescore,(just to practice)...
Question:Can i upload a song from a song book to musescore "For educational purposes" or that's a violation to copy right?
I have 2 Movie songs done and they are very famous and popular to waste them just for myself...i did a search here and musescore needs more songs like this...
I hope i'm making sense.... Thanks....
Stay safe....U all have a great day/night.. :)

As long as you mark a score private (so others cannot see it), you can upload whatever you want. If you make it public, then there may indeed be copyright concerns. If you didn't actually compose the music, and it's less than around 100 years old, chances are it is protected by the laws of your particular country. You'd need to consult a lawyer to get a more precise answer specific to your situation.
Most movie music is recent enough that it is still protected by copyright in most countries.

Ok...just what i thought...that stinks but is understandable..
But i have seen movie and Tv themes public here at musescore. Just by using the Name of such Movies or Tv themes with the arrangement would be a copy right or not?

If the music is not originally composed by you, someone else owns the copyright. What that means for you is, again, something to consult your lawyer - or to contact the copyright owner about.

It's Ok...i was just asking....
Too bad we can't share scores of songs that were made like 30 years ago....
Thanks..
