Initial search filters on recent post page or .....

If I want to do a search to help someone buy finding a link, I put the search term (e.g. "lines") in the search box.

Most often I want a link to lead to the handbook.

However it leads to a general "site" search where then the other filters appear (users, handbook, site, issues}.

When I click on Handbook, a search page shows up but *without the term I was looking for in the search box*. The box is empty and I have to enter it again.

It would be convenient if the filters appeared on all pages with the box or else if the previous search term was still in the box so it didn't have to be entered again.

It could be highlighted so that if one wanted to do a different search, starting to type in the box would delete what was there automatically.
